So... this is a thing now. I'm a regular at 7-Eleven, and I'm guessing that a lot of folks are. Traffic. Pit stops for the kids in the morning and afternoons. Hustling from school to practice to concerts to... somewhere to get a quick snack. Cheap.
So $3 or $4 for a sandwich seemed appalling to me a year or two ago. But do I have time to make sandwiches every day? I'd rather use that time to get a head start on my next destination. Do I want to spend $3 or $4 for a snack? Not really, but by 2 pm, that's often my breakfast. So the dollars spent are worthwhile.
So, how is the 7-Eleven Chunk Peanut Butter and Guava Jelly sandwich?
It's good. Almost great, but definitely good. There's a really thin layer of guava jelly compared to the amount of grape jelly they smear into the PB&J sandwich. (That's been a solid go-to for me.) So yes, I'd like more Guava Jelly, but realistically, this is a solid value. Especially since I love Chunky PB and Guava Jelly.
Thumbs up, 7-Eleven. For those of us trying to eat healthier — less animal fat — this is a win-win. If you really want to spoil us, we'll gladly partake of Passionfruit Jelly, too.
