Kinako pudding

Kinako takes me back to childhood when mom would make us mochi (the kind you boil from cubes) and put it on kinako powder (with sugar and a pinch of salt). So ono. So I had to try this pudding.
It definitely gives you that powdery throat feeling. And the kinako flavor isn't strong. The visual tricks you. It looks syrupy, but tastes light and not very sweet. And the pudding is custard-like in texture, but not sweet either.
I suppose what I'd prefer is custard pudding or flan with actual kinako powder as a topping. This dessert is a visual masterpiece, but now I'm jonesing for mom's mochi and kinako. #kinako #pudding @yakiyakimiwa
