I requested extra juice for this half-pound order of Li Hing Pickled Mango. I wasn't near Manoa recently when I got a major headache, just dehyrdrated on a hot afternoon. Water didn't work, but I had pickled mango from another spot (Marukin Market) and that little tub was full of juice. That vinegar/li hing liquid did the trick. Headache gone.
So I resupplied today while in Manoa Valley. Kay's Crackseed has one of the largest stocks of cracked seed I know of. Four different varieties of pickled mango. The half-pound of Li Hing Pickled Mango is $9.50, but the quarter-pound is also available at roughly half that price.
Food as medicine, good. Tasty food as medicine, great.
