I'd been craving Look Fun for weeks. In fact, when I stopped in at Island Manapua one Saturday afternoon, they were sold out. I went back a week later while I was close by again, and I picked up their last box.
Look fun and chow fun seem similar enough to some people. To me, they are totally different. One is a plain, wide noodle. The other has bits of green onion and char siu embedded within. The shoyu sauce adds a nice flavor. I don't know what's in it, but it's not just plain shoyu.
Taro cake is always heavy and ono. I wasn't craving this, but after missing lunch, this was a proper mid-afternoon snack. Thumbs up!
