BBQ Pork at L&L UH-Manoa

This is the truth. During the 1980s, I worked part-time on lower campus at UH-Manoa. In the summer, we were busy and had full-time shifts. Lunch hour was always good because we were close enough to Puck’s Alley to enjoy a short walk, pick up plate lunches from L&L, and devour them.

The best plate was the char-grilled Shoyu Chicken. It was perfection. Over time, that location of L&L closed and a whole lot of other restaurants have taken its place.

Today, there is an L&L at the UH athletic faculties, across the road from the Dept. of Disbursing. I was there spending the day at a basketball camp, but they were out of chicken. The BBQ Pork plate turned out to be tender, juicy and sweet. Almost kal bi pork.

The UH lower campus L&L is an oasis in an area with no other eateries. But there is very light traffic during vacation breaks. They open at 8 am and close by 4 pm.
