Hobbs & Shaw: Swinging for the fences

Hobbs & Shaw
IMAX Regal Dole Cannery
Pupule rating: 3.6 (out of 4)
Like Once Upon a Time In Hollywood or any Marvel film, Hobbs & Shaw asks us to sit back and allow it full artistic license. Suspended reality.

Of all the popcorn flicks this summer, this one goes over the top with the most insane action. There’s only so much CGI can do before any moving picture feels a little fabricated, but this goes the other direction beyond because of the crew’s penchant for the extraordinary. The line between real and unreal here is not easy to distinguish. That’s what pops for nearly two hours.

The storyline is thick. Part of me wishes it was simplified and based much more in Samoa. But they swung for the fences. It works. especially the wild final 20 minutes. This goes down in cinema history as truly unique — precisely one of a kind.. ‘Nuff said.
