Kahala Theater’s best 7 set ever?

I can’t say for sure. I didn’t start watching motion pictures until the mid-1970s. “Rocky.” Varsity Theater, long live her soul.

This group of 7 films at Consolidated Kahala is the best I can remember. Not a single weak link. Not one average picture. And each has a charisma of its own.

>> “Harriet” — I saw this earlier in the week at Ward. Wow. A 3.8 (out of 4). Did not know Harriet Tubman carried a weapon like this.

>> “The Current War: Director’s Cut” — Another excellent film. 3.3 for me. Saw this at another theater.

>> “Motherless Brooklyn”
>> “Parasite”
>> “Maleficent: Mistress of Evil”
>> “The Lighthouse”
Motherless and Parasite are very alluring. Maleficent and Lighthouse, less so, but still interesting.

>> “Pain and Glory”
Antonio Banderas and Penelope Cruz? I’d see this before Maleficent and Lighthouse.

Joker is no longer playing at Kahala. The 7 at Kahala are at the opposite side of the spectrum from the nine films at Consolidated Pearlridge. The only common movie between the sites is Maleficent.
