Saint Louis SB Isaac Silva gets long-awaited Ivy League shot

The future was always bright for scholar-athlete Isaac Silva.

Even in the mist of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Saint Louis senior is getting more opportunities to play football at the next level. Columbia is the latest program to offer Silva an opportunity.

“They offered me a roster spot,” Silva said on Wednesday afternoon.

The two-sport athlete also has a preferred walk-on offer from Syracuse. Small colleges have also opened doors: Briar Cliff, Lewis and Clark, Pacific and Pacific Lutheran.

Columbia plays in the Ivy League, a place that Silva wants to be. One of his dreams is to play at Harvard or Yale. He has a 4.3 grade-point average. Columbia hasn’t provided any details on a financial assistance package yet.

Silva had 57 receptions for 602 yards and a TD as Saint Louis won its fourth Open Division state championship in a row.
