The Upside hits right notes

The Upside
Pupule rating: 3.3 (out of 4)
Netflix

Sometimes the strength of a story is not about cuhecking every box along the way. The Upside is at its best in the conversations. The conflicts. The real-time pause. Bryan Cranston is impeccably nuanced. Nicole Kidman is understated and still as alluring on camera as ever. Kevin Hart is in the sweet spot here. There is a reason why, as I read after seeing this, why audiences enjoyed this far more than critics. Sometimes, critics are their own worst enemies.

I appreciate that Upside stuck to its core and didn’t compromise. Less is more.
