Chanelle Molina's 19 points power Norrköping to win before break

The turnaround time was quick, but the Norrköping Dolphins answered with a 74-67 homecourt win over Mark on Wednesday.

Chanelle Molina paced Norrköping with 19 points as the Dolphins improved to 4-2 in Swedish Basketball League action. Anna Lindquist scored 15 of her 17 points in the second half. Their three-game win streak had ended just four days earlier.

“It was a fast turnaround, so it was important for our team to focus on our next opponent rather than dwell on our loss. We emphasized making the next pass when we draw two players to get a better flow on offense,” said Molina, who is averaging 20 points per game. “Our coach said to play our game.”

The weekly schedule was altered due to the nationals. Sweden’s national team is playing against the top countries in Europe for two weeks. Molina, who enjoys traveling and photography, has filled her social media platforms with fun videos.

“I have this weekend off so we might drive to another town nearby. Next weekend, we’re going to Stockholm and spending the night there,” the former Konawaena and Washington State standout said. “We still have practice for those two weeks.”

The videos are short — on Tik Tok — and getting more creative.

“I just think of it as I go,” she said.

Home and the future have been on her mind. The future could, or should, include the WNBA for Molina, who was considered a second-round prospect as a senior at Washington State. She is content to establish herself in Europe for now.

"It's highly unlikely to get an offer from the WNBA, I think, during these times, but if I get a tryout offer, I would for sure take it," she said.

She spent time with teammates carving pumpkins before Halloween last week. Molina remembers holidays in Kona.

"Back home, I remember having a Christmas party in high school that (coach) Aunty Bobbie (Awa) and Jess (Hanato) threw in the Konawaena gym. We would split into three teams and we would each perform a song/skit," she said. "They would feed us, of course, but that's one of my favorite memories."
