I wasn't there to enjoy this: fried kole, freshly caught off the Kona Coast, along with sweet potato, picked onion. rice and potato salad. There is a strong, strong case for Konawaena's concession stand (football and basketball) as the best in the state?
Other great stands have homemade deliciousness, but who dives and catches their own fish? Often, there is roast pork brought in from a hunt the previous day and other varieties of local fish. Kole served at Konawaena, I learned in 2017, is delicately fried, retains a sweet and moist texture and tastes so good. Might be the best fried fish I ever had.
