This is a massive serving of fried chicken at L&R, which is in Kaneohe. This is the MINI-PLATE! Humongous!
I had been next door at Masa & Joyce Okazuya earlier in the day. When I returned in the evening for a basketball game nearby, I had to try this. One of my Facebook (and longtime) friends, Katrina Martinez, had recommended the fried chicken at L&R, a Chinese-run place similar to L&L Hawaiian Barbeque.
This mini-plate is just $5.65. It normally comes with macaroni salad and rice. I opted for all rice. (Tossed salad as a substitute for mac salad is an extra $.50.)
The chicken is crispy, tender, no special seasoning. Just juicy and salty and ONO. I had a bit, then had to get to the game. I ended up giving most of it away to a hungry player on our team after the game. This is definitely a must-have at L&R.
The parking lot — it was around 7 p.m. when I returned — was entirely full with customers who actually were in highly-recommended Kin Wah Chinese Restaurant. There's also highly-recommended KJ's at the nearby mall. One day.
