The Black Garlic Oil Tonkotsu Ramen at Junpuu has its own unique combination of flavors and textures. I got mine after seeing "Ramen Heads" at nearby Doris Duke Theater, and showing my ticket stub was rewarded with a free side of gyoza — which were perfectly crispy and charred, filled with a healthy dose of garlic. My second-favorite gyoza behind Taiyo Ramen.
The ramen was so good, even as a take-out meal, that I couldn't stop after one taste in my car. Instead of taking this home to finish, I devoured the entire bowl at once. I'm looking forward to my next visit to Junpuu.
