Any time I'm driving the Windward coast line past Kaneohe, the aura of Waiahole Poi Factory sets in. I love their laulau. It might be the best I've ever eaten. I love their poi, which is not as thick as what I had growing up. But it's ono and it's fresh. The lomi salmon is awesome. So is the haupia. Even the chili water rates high; I mix it with the poi if there's extra.
The truth is if I lived close by, I'd be here at least twice a week. Just can't beat the real deal.
I didn't have the kulolo dessert. It looks so decadent. Next time.
